Born and raised in the Bay Area, I began my real estate career in the late 1980's after graduating college at UCSD. I bought my first home in Point Loma and for many years worked in the San Diego Metro area selling real estate in communities such as Point Loma, Mission Hills, North Park, South Park, University Heights and Kensington. I cherish the sense of the past, the mature landscaping and architectural interest present in these communities. I continue to list and sell homes in the Metro area to this day.
In the early 1990s I transferred real estate offices to Del Mar due to the tremendous client demand for excellent schools, newer housing and a short commute to the high tech work centers located in the north county coastal area. My office has been based in Del Mar/Carmel Valley ever since. I took a six month sabbatical in 1995 to study business and economics at La Universidad Ibero Americana in Mexico City. Im grateful to offer real estate services in both Spanish and English.
I bought my first north county home in Solana Beach in 2000. I completely gutted and remodeled this home, turning a 1960's box into a small but charming spanish style home (851VeraDiningroom). It was a lot of work but very rewarding and an invaluable experience to share with clients. From 2005 until 2008 I lived in Western Encinitas and absolutely loved it. Encinitas has the best library in all of San Diego and we were within walking distance! But alas, we moved back to Solana Beach to my single story mid century modern inspired home remodel (DellFrontSteps) in summer of 2008. It had been my passion to remodel another 1960 style home and perhaps learn from the mistakes of the first remodel. I did it but oh my, what a challenge. I now live west of the 5 in Solana Beach, with my dog Lola and my two children, Paolina and Carlos.
I specialize in the coastal communities of La Jolla, Carmel Valley, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff by the Sea, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, and Carlsbad. I also have extensive short sale and REO sales experience for distressed properties. The real estate market is very competitive-you have to be a strong, personable and creative negotiator in order to succeed on your clients behalf. Im very proud of my track record and my ability to strategize, present, negotiate and succeed for my clients while maintaining the highest levels of integrity, ethics and professionalism.
Whether we are experiencing a "Sellers Market" or a "Buyers Market", my goal is always the same: to provide an exceptional real estate service above and beyond the norm. In doing so, I aim to earn your long term trust, and of course your real estate referrals. I am committed to client satisfaction and will always put your interests and needs above my own. Because of this, over 90% of my business is derived from referrals and past clients. Please dont hesitate to ask me about my listing service guarantee or how the real estate commission pie is divided. You will be pleasantly surprised by the answers.
